Green Mojito Smoothie

Green Mojito smoothie by Tess Masters

This is a cold-and-flu buster and potent detoxifier, all in one zesty cocktail! The bromelain in pineapple suppresses coughs and loosens mucus, while mint clears respiratory congestion, soothes sore throats, and alleviates nausea. The vitamin C in limes has antibiotic power, anti-inflammatories in kale and pineapple combat arthritis, and ginger boosts immunity, aids digestion, and adds a powerful zing. Rosemary Melonade

Rosemary Watermelon smoothie by Tess Masters

This exotic blend sips like a fancy cocktail, but skips the hefty bar tab. Melon is hydrating, and rich in vitamin C and anti-inflammatory lycopenes, while rosemary contributes awesome flavor and antibacterial backup. The combination makes this your secret immunity agent! Throw in the jalapeño for an added cleanse and kick. Reprinted with permission, from The Blender Girl Smoothies* © 2014, 2015 by Tess Masters.  Photographs copyright © 2014 by Erin Kunkel. Awesome Almond Chia Pudding

Raw Almond Chia Pudding from Tess Masters' The Blender Girl

Please enjoy this super easy 5 minute chia pudding as a salute to super easy healthy recipes made in a blender! This is one of go-to quick desserts if somebody comes over for dinner at the last minute or I feel like a quick treat. I LOVE this almond version that tastes like marzipan. But you could add vanilla extract and stir in a mashed banana and a teaspoon of cinnamon, or stir through berries or other fruit. Recipe and photo contributed by Tess Masters, from The Blender Girl, reprinted by permission. more→

Green Queen Salad

green queen salad and dressing from Tess Masters' Blender Girl

I think of this salad dressing as the culinary equivalent of my little black dress—a staple that gets pulled out, works for most occasions, and never goes out of style. I love the peppery notes in this dressing, but any blend of herbs and greens can yield spectacular results. This lean green dressing machine will transform even the most tragic mound of lettuce from drab to fab. People swoon when they taste it. Many a friend has exclaimed in the midst of a euphoric bite, “Oh, I could just gobble this up with a spoon!” I have done that, and also licked it out of the blender carriage before it even had the chance to get dressed up. Reprinted with permission from The Blender Girlby Tess Masters, copyright © 2014.
