Improving Gamer Lifestyles the Vegan Way
Recently, I was talking to a few gamers regarding healthy living choices. I inquired about their eating habits and their habits varied great depending on whether they were single, married, living at home, and traveling on the road.
I received some surprising answers from those who still lived at home and found out that many parents actually seem to support bad eating habits of their kids. They are looking to “keep them happy” and will pretty much feed them anything they ask for, even if it isn’t good for them.
Those that were married or had a girlfriend living with them tended to eat a bit more healthy as long as their significant other was the one doing the meal choices. Those that traveled on the road playing games semi-professionally or professionally admitted to some dreadful eating choices.
After gathering feedback from the gamers, I then started to share some of the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. One of the essential health tips for online gamers is sticking to a well balanced diet and going vegan would definitely support that. Granted, not all gamers are going to want to go hardcore vegan but there are still some healthier choices they can make to improve their overall eating habits.
For starters, gamers love to snack on and even make a meal of various junk foods. For example, one could substitute popcorn and potato chips for oven roasted cauliflower and kale chips. Instead of candy or chocolates, consider some walnuts and dried berries instead to snack on.
Gamers and sports fans alike love buffalo wings. A Super Bowl recipe I once came across combined tofu with buffalo sauce (basically a hot sauce mixed with melted vegan margarine) to make buffalo-style tofu. Make up some Vegan Ranch Dressing if you desire, and it should be close enough to the real thing to satisfy most tastes.
A great recipe for a quick meal is sloppy joes made with tempeh. This is excellent for those that love “meaty” textures; tempeh hold sauces very well. The taste is said to be very nutty and extremely satisfying.
As many of the gamers found out from our talk, you don’t have to go hardcore vegan in order to incorporate more plant-based meals habit into your lifestyle. Just simple little changes can help you to lose weight, boost your energy, and improve your overall health. Gamers that make these choices will probably also find that their overall game performance will also improve.Print This Post
