Raw Fruity “Cheeseburger and Fries”
Contributed by Raw Chef Bryan Au: I invented a series of recipes that look like junk food, fast food, or savory comfort foods but are 100% raw organic fruit! It’s a fun way to be creative with food and to add more healthy fruit to your diet as well. In this series I have “Penne Pasta” made out of mango with “Tomato Sauce” made from strawberries and I have a “Steak Dinner” that’s all fruit, too. See more of these on Raw in Ten Minutes. This is the tasty “Cheeseburger with Fries” — amazingly refreshing and delicious as an appetizer, entree or dessert!
Serves: 2 to 3
- 1 organic Asian pear
- 1 slice of organic red watermelon
- A few organic strawberries
- A few mint leaves
- Some scraped organic coconut meat
- A slice of organic honeydew melon
- 2 organic dried figs
- Some organic raisins
- A few organic dates
- 1 slice organic mango
Cut the Asian pear in half put one half on a serving plate and use as the “bun.” Cut the other half into French fry shapes and put to the side of the “bun.” Put the coconut meat on top of the Asian pear half as the “mayo.” you may cut it so it is round.
Put the mint leaves on next to be the “lettuce.” In a mixing bowl smash together the fig, dates and raisins. Roll into a ball, then flatten with your hands into a patty shape. Use the raisins to make “grill” marks like in the photo. Put on top of the mint.
Cut the watermelon into a round “tomato” slice and put on top of the “burger.”
Smash the strawberries in a bowl and spoon on to the watermelon to look like “ketchup.” Slice the honeydew melon into flat round “pickles.” You can use a fork to make the ridges by scraping the top with the fork. Put on top of the strawberry and watermelon as shown in the photo and use some crushed strawberry as more “ketchup” on the “fries.” Serve and enjoy!Print This Post
