VegKitchen’s Top Vegan Wraps and Sandwiches

Published: Aug 3, 2017 · Updated: Aug 18, 2021 · This post may contain affiliate links.

VegKitchen’s pages offer a number of tasty recipes and ideas for vegan sandwich and wraps, perfect for lunches at home or to take to school or the office (or even as quick, casual dinners). Here are the ones that have proven most popular with readers — most views, comments, and in general, going most crazy over them when we share on our Facebook page. Keep this list handy, and it will be a long time before you wonder what to have for lunch! Of course, for the mid-day meal, you can rotate these with some of our delicious salads and/or leftover soups as well. Another tip: You can turn any of the wraps below into sandwiches, and vice versa.

    Hummus, cucumber, and avocado wrap2

These easy Hummus, Cucumber, and Avocado Wraps are as good for dinner as they are for lunch (or even breakfast, for that matter …). You can use homemade hummus or store-bought; either way, it’s made in minutes. For lunch, serve with plenty of fruit; for dinner, serve with soup  and/or a simple side dish.

    Asian flavored quinoa wraps recipe

Asian-Flavored Quinoa Wraps, contributed by Wendy Polisi, are chock-full of yummy and healthy ingredients, including carrots, avocado, and leafy greens. They come together quickly once you have the cooked quinoa on hand. See photo of finished wrap at top.

Baked Tofu & Peanut Satay wraps

Sometimes, two shortcuts are better than one, and that’s definitely true for these tasty Baked Tofu and Peanut Satay Wraps. Using precut coleslaw and prepared peanut satay sauce means that these can be ready to eat in 10 minutes or less.

    Tofu, arugula, and olive wraps

Baked Tofu, Arugula, and Olive Wraps — Baby arugula livens up the flavor of thes simple wraps. It’s quick to make and delicious to eat, and makes for a great portable lunch or an easy dinner entree.

Hummus avocado and baby spinach sandwich on English muffin

Hummus, Avocado, and Baby Spinach Sandwich, contributed by Vicki Brett-Gach was an instant hit with VK readers from the moment it was posted. Says Vicki: “Despite its simplicity, this sandwich is really delicious, and the kind of lunch I look forward to all morning. Protein, healthy fats, good carbs, plenty of fiber, antioxidants…it’s all there.”

Sharon's chickpea salad or sandwich spread

Sharon’s Chickpea Salad or Sandwich Spread by Sharon Nazarian is super easy and completely delicious; it takes only about 15 minutes to make, and there are so many ways to serve it — as a sandwich, appetizer, or dolloped into a lettuce leaf.

    Chickpea and kale sandwich spread

Chickpea and Kale Sandwich Spread or Salad proves that chickpeas and kale are a tasty team, making this combination a great spread for bread, or a filling for pita bread or a wrap with some tender lettuce and sliced tomatoes.

    Avocado Tempeh Reuben

Vegan Avocado Tempeh Reuben Sandwich — The classic deli reuben sandwich can be made meatless as well as dairy-free with homemade or store-bought smoky strips, and just a touch of vegan cheese. Sauerkraut gives it a nice tang, and avocado makes it luscious!
